What Guisborough properties throw up
Trees and gutters. The older, leafier streets and the properties backing onto woodland get through gutters faster than the open estates do. It is the single most common cause of the damp patch that appears on an inside wall in autumn, and it is far cheaper to clear a gutter than to treat the wall.

When we are the wrong choice
If the job is really a full bathroom, kitchen or rewire, we will tell you and quote it as such rather than dressing it up as maintenance. We also do not do tree surgery, roofing at height beyond gutter level, or gas appliance work outside our Gas Safe cover.
How the job runs
Send the list with photographs if you can. We price the visit and agree it before we come. We turn up when we said, work through the list, tell you about anything we find that you did not know about, and clear up. Anything we could not do gets explained rather than left.

What does a handyman actually cover?
The jobs that are too small for a specialist trade and too fiddly to leave: doors that will not close, dripping taps, failed sealant, loose handrails, curtain poles, flat-pack, fence panels, gutters, a socket that has stopped working. If a job turns out to need a qualified trade, we tell you rather than bodge it, and we have those trades in-house anyway.
Is there a minimum charge?
We price the visit rather than the minute, and it is agreed before we come. That means it is nearly always better value to save several small jobs up for one visit than to call us out three times. Send a list.
Do you do gutters?
Yes: clearing, realigning and replacing sections. Guisborough has a lot of mature trees, and in the streets with heavy leaf fall gutters need doing more often than people expect. A blocked gutter that overflows down a solid stone wall causes damp inside, which is a much bigger bill.
Can you help with a property I do not live in?
Yes. We do a lot of work for landlords and for people managing a relative's house or a second property. You do not have to be there. We arrange access, photograph what we find and what we did, and send it with the invoice.
Do you do outdoor jobs as well as indoor?
