Decorating in Nunthorpe is mostly about what previous decades left behind. What Nunthorpe properties throw up

Aspect and planting outside. Why does the old woodwork go yellow again so quickly?
Because of what is underneath. Decades of oil-based gloss on a 1930s staircase or window board will bleed through a thin coat of white and discolour it within months. The fix is preparation and the right primer for the situation, sometimes with a stain-blocking coat, rather than another topcoat. It is more work at the start and it is the only thing that lasts.
Can you repair the original coving and picture rails rather than replace them?

How often does the outside need doing here?
