Ceiling voids and stud walls. Modern construction means moving a waste is often more feasible here than in an older house, so the bath-to-shower conversion that would be awkward elsewhere is frequently straightforward.

Doing both bathrooms at once

Most houses here have a family bathroom and at least one en-suite, fitted at the same time and ageing at the same rate. Doing them in one programme shares the strip-out, the deliveries and the tiling, and gives you one disrupted week rather than two.

If you want the cheapest suite fitted fastest, we are not the right firm and we will say so at the quote. We also will not tile onto a substrate that should have come out, or fit a large shower head onto a supply that will not feed it.

How the job runs

We look at the room, then quote in writing listing the work and the materials, which you can accept online. We book a start date and confirm the day before. Strip-out, first fix, boarding, tanking, tiling, second fix and sealing run in order, photographed as they go, with the room cleared each evening.

If the plumbing elsewhere needs attention while the water is off, mention it at the quote stage. Where the en-suite is being done at the same time, the kitchen often follows in the same programme.
