We do not start a strip-out before the materials are on site. A family without a bathroom waiting on a delivery is the worst way to run a job.
What Billingham houses throw up
Original pipework. In houses of this age the supply pipework has often been partly replaced and partly not, and what is behind the bath is not always what is under the sink. We check rather than assume, because a modern shower valve on tired supply pipework is a disappointing shower.
The cylinder cupboard. The standard layouts put hot water storage right next to the bathroom. If your heating is being changed at the same time, or has already been changed to a combi, that cupboard is either dead space or an opportunity. Decide which while the room is open.

If the heating is being changed too, quote them together, and if the kitchen is next on the list it is worth pricing at the same visit. Moving a radiator or losing a cylinder is straightforward while the bathroom is already stripped and awkward afterwards.

How long does a full bathroom refit take?
Five to eight working days on site for most full refits, once materials are here. A straight replacement is at the shorter end.
